Product Description

The is an electronic leak detector used to detect refrigerant leaks in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It features a sensitivity selection switch which allows it to be used with CFCs and HCFCs at one setting and HFCs at the other. The unit is able to detect leaks smaller than 1/2 ounce per year. Other features include audible and visual leak indicators, a volume control, a threshold balancing control and a 16 inch gooseneck probe, which holds its position for one-handed operations. When the unit is not being used, the probe wraps into a retaining clip on the back of the case.

Robinair 16600 Electronic Leak Detector Review

This electronic freon leak detector works great. It's really easy to use and it can help you find the leak on your air conditioning system.

It has two sensitivity levels on it.

Level 1 detects R-134a (which is in most cars today since the 1990's), HP 62, AC 9000, AZ 20 and AZ 50

Level 2 detects R-12 (which is older cars prior to the 1990's), R-22, R-500, and R-502.

It has a visual leak indicator to show when refrigerant is detected and how concentrated it is

The goose-neck probe is 16 inches long which gives you plenty of reach if your looking for a leak in your engine bay.

The only downside to this freon detector is in the audible leak detector. While the detector is in use you will hear a steady ticking noise which can be controlled with the volume dial. But even with the volume all the way up it can be hard to hear if you are outside or if you are using the detector with your car running.

Overall this detector works great because It detects a wide variety of refrigerants. If your planning on fixing an a/c system yourself and you don't know where the leak is, this is the tool for you.

I replaced the original gauges in my 1989 Wellcraft 220XL Elite with these & they are a nice set. The speedo actually reads slower than GPS which is rare for a pitot type. Most boat speedos are very "friendly". I had them several months now with no complaints. Got these from a Amazon Marketplace affiliate with no problems.

Replacement tank for my 2004 VNL 670 with a Volvo D12 engine. If you have yellowing, swelling and coolant on the driver side of the tank you are most likely looking at injector cup replacement to eliminate fuel getting into the coolant. Fuel in the coolant will ruin the OEM tank and possibly hoses. This is an exact fit replacement tank needed after everything else is fixed. OEM quality.

dont be fooled by advertising or a salesman telling you this has a "cast iron" drive gear. the gear is in fact "hardened" and will destroy the camshaft drivegear in a stock 289 or 302 non-roller engine. the gear that comes with the distributor is the exact same steel gear summit and others sell. a cast drive gear would be all rough and look like the casting of your OEM manifold or the side of your engine block. the gear that comes with the pertronix is a smooth machined STEEL gear. BTW, Pertronix customer service SUCKS!! they never replied to my emails asking about the drive gear material. Fortunately the distributor itself is very good, so I bought a cast iron drive gear and swapped out the "hardened" gear. also, the installation instructions are fuzzy at best. unless you really look at them it is very easy to hook up the distributor wrong. all you hasve to remember is that the red lead from the distributor MUST go to a switched 12v lead. I would buy another knowing that I had to spend an additional 40 bucks for the correct cast iron drive gear.
