I purchased this hitch for a 2013 Ford Escape Titanium. I had to order this hitch twice. The first one I ordered was fulfilled by Amazon. It arrived without any packaging and unfortunately missing some of the installation hardware. I called Amazon and they issued a full refund. The second one ordered was fulfilled by Trends-Auto. They shipped the hitch in the original packaging (cardboard box) and everything was included. The installation went quite smooth. I used a rotary tool (dremel) with a grinding bit attached to widen the two holes utilized to insert the 6 bolts and keys with the wire tools provided. I had to loosen the rear bumper mounting hardware to get the holes for the rear bolts to line up but the bumper is not attached to the rear plastic outer cover for the bumper so it wasn't a big deal. I also installed a Curt 56164 T-Connector and Hopkins 47185 Multi-Tow Adapter which both work great. When purchasing the hitch my only concern was the potential to lose the functionality of the foot activated power lift gate; however, after the installation I didn't have any issues. Simply kick on either side of the receiver and presto. I will caution anyone completing the installation not to have the key on their person or even have it nearby. You will be working directly below the sensor that activates the lift gate and could inadvertently activate it at any time. Not that there is any extreme danger, but if you are in an area where the lift gate could make contact with another object this could be problematic. I have owned several hitches manufactured by Curt and they are solid. I have had zero problems and I do not expect any problems with this one either. I would definitely recommend this hitch to anyone looking to increase the functionality of their escape. I already towed a trailer weighing about 1500lbs over 300 miles with no trouble. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Curt 13129 Class 3 Trailer Hitch" are high quality item.
