I have a 02' Trans AM WS6 M6 with 2-3 boltons. I dynoed 330/340 RWHP/TQ. Every other tire I have tried (All 275/40/17) could not let me drop the clutch at 1800 RPM and first gear was completely worthless.

The 275/40/17 NT-05's hold first gear very well as long as you have more than 5/8 of a tank of gas. I have them currently set to 28PSI, which seems to work best for these in the summer. They are not the best drag racing tire in the world, you can't drop these tires at 3k RPM's and expect them to not roast.

I would presume that this would be a dream tire for any automatic equipped LS1 based motor, it should hold well.

This tire recovers very well. I have gone into a slide almost every time I drive my car and a soon as you lift the throttle the tires stick. (pretty good drifting tires as well, as they give great feedback).

All in all, these are the best tires by far that I have had. My second favorite were BFG KDW's.

If you have a better power to weight ratio than 340ish / 3600 pounds, and you like to mess around in first gear, I would check out an "R" compound tire.

Cons: Launching
Pros: Handling, audible noise when at the limit, Look very aggressive.

I will post 60' times when I get to the track. Stock tires light up and end up with 2.2-2.3 seconds.
