Depo 320-1116L-AS7 Subaru Impreza/Outback Driver Side Replacement Headlight Assembly Review

I had the most difficult time finding an affordable headlight assembly for my Suby. The '04 model had a unique shape -- '03 and earlier had the bug eye look; I believe '05-'09 had a more angular design. I did not want to pay $380+ each from Subaru for a headlight! My intercooler didn't even cost that much -- that's just highway robbery!

Been kicking myself because I should have replaced my headlights a few years earlier when there were far more choices on the after market. Now I had a corroded but functioning assembly (which cracked and rainwater accumulated). Very janky.

So when this replacement OEM became available on Amazon, I just jumped on it. Been extremely pleased because it wasn't a big dent on the wallet. This could have been a 5-star review but dinged it a star because you can't adjust the angle of the headlights. Unfortunately these are really bright and clear and points up directly in the face of on-coming traffic with extremely bad glare factor. I feel really bad as many cars often flashed their high-beams at me. Usually I've been using just the running lights at night.

Awesome for the value - can't beat it.
Awful for the kharma factor as you're basically blinding on-coming traffic.

Still 4-stars.

p.s- Can someone give a hint on how to adjust the direction and help me point the headlights a few angles lower? Much appreciated!

Scorpion EXO-500 Helmet - Large/White Review

This helmet has impressed me thus far. It has a lot of features for what you pay for and it was exactly what I expected it to be. The integrated drop down sun visor is really nifty and was one of the big selling points for me on this helmet. The inflatable cheeks would be great for someone with a smaller face and jaw line, but I have a large jaw bone so it isn't too useful for me. It stay relatively cool and is quiet compared to most helmets I've owned and used. Some people are saying this thing is loud at high speed, but let just say, "DUH!" Any helmet is going to get louder the faster you go, but the slight hum I get in this at 70 mph is nothing. I only have 4 gripes about this helmet, but none were serious enough for me to drop a star.

1. The ventilation at the base of the skull in the rear is a little lacking, but not as terrible as most helmets.
2. The main visor that comes with the thing is glare prone and visibility drop tremendously if there are any finger prints on it. You have to keep it 100% clean or you won't be able to see at all.
3. The drop down sun visor could be darker. It is way to light to be as effective as a pair of sunglasses. In direct sunlight I find myself blinded and in combination with the main visor it produces a double glare. However, both of these can easily replaced with different colors and shades so I'm not worried about it.
4. The sizing chart. I knew friends and vendors had told me Scorpion ran small compared to most other brands, but they weren't kidding. I measured on their charts right at the end of an XL so just to be safe I ordered an XXL and it was still very tight. Granted it will loosen a bit as it get broken in, but man it grips you! I'd advise trying one on in store first if possible so you don't accidentally order the wrong size and have to ship back.

Most all of those issues are easily remedied and shouldn't stop you from getting this great helmet. Just be ready to get different visors and make absolutely sure you have confirmed your size.
