Speed & Strength SS2200 Modular Helmet (SMALL) (WINE) Review

I got this helmet because I ride a sport bike and a cruiser. I chose this one because the chin bar comes off. My last 2 helmets were modular, and I only put the chin-bar down for the highway, rain or cold.
Pros:
LUV the chin-strap connector!! GREAT design that works great - takes a bit of adjustment at first, but totally worth it.
The color is much nicer than the pictures here. Shiny and deep. Red with a touch of maroon.
Chin bar is easy to remove & put on.
The face shield is very nice - no optical distortions. It clicks into it's different positions positively. The design is one that won't easily wear out (My last helmet would open or close in the wind, which is why I got this one). Haven't tested the anti-fog yet.
The drop down inner tinted visor comes down right to my nose - absolutely perfect.
The removeable liner is a nice feature (see below).
Cons:
The size is NOT standard. I've been wearing small helmets for 20 yrs. This small is to big!!! I thought of getting an XS liner, but decided to get a XS helmet. It fits me perfect.
The chin-strap is WAY TOO LONG. They obviously didn't compensate for the new-style connector. And there's nowhere to tuck the extra...
The brand, model, DOT 'sticker' on the back looks tacky with this color. It's under the clear coat, so you can't take it off. This is what had me decide to get a different helmet (and size).
Doesn't come with a manual. Well it does, but not for THIS helmet. No instruction on strap connector, vents, chin bar or changing shields. I contacted S&S & haven't heard back - it's been a week.
Nit-picks:
The shield doesn't have a position that is 'open just a crack'. I think every helmet should have this!
Can't put the inner, tinted shield down part way. It would be nice.
There should be covers for the 'holes' when you remove the chin-bar.
Can't feel the venting - but haven't tried it with the inner shield down. I suspect it blocks the flow when it's up inside the helmet.

Spectre Performance 9961 Air Intake Kit with Red hpR Filter Review

I checked the verification on Amazon prior to ordering this product to make sure it fit my vehicle and it said it fits. I received the product and proceeded to the install. I had multiple issues with the fit in my 06' Tundra. The heat shield did not fit my truck at all. I had to modify it quite a bit just to get it to fit. The diagram does not have the ABS controller or the voltage regulator that is next to the power steering reservoir. After I got the heat shield customized to fit my vehicle I began to add the intake tube on. There are 3 vacuum lines that came off my old intake but there were 4 (one is just a hole) on the new intake tube. The pieces that they send do not plug this hole so I had to go buy a plug for this hole. The hole itself is too small for the fitting to fit so I will have to modify that just to make the parts they sent work. The biggest problem I ran into was when I went to transfer my mass airflow sensor does not fit in the tube for the Spectre intake. It costs $100 just to buy the older style mass airflow sensor (of which I am not sure would even work with the CPU in my truck).

All in all I would say the product itself seems to be fairly good quality. My big issue is the verification of fit to a vehicle process is WRONG! Do not buy this for an 03'-06' tundra unless you do not mind doing the modifications necessary to make it fit. I am hoping that when I get done with the modifications that it will work as it is supposed to otherwise it will be trash. I have tried to be as specific as I can be but have not finished the project so there could be more issues than I have described. Please do enough research to verify fitment as Amazon's obviously did not work for me.

Knox Recon Hand Armor Gloves - Large/Black Review

These are quite comfortable, the armor looks to be pretty good. A few threads came loose soon after I got them but they haven't come undone; integrity seems to be good as new after a year /10,000 miles. These won't keep your hands warm if it gets under 50*f, but on the flip side they're pretty comfortable even in the high nineties.

Price point is about right, maybe even a little more armor for the money than competitors. I got black & brown but I shoulda gone for black & white.

Genuine Honda parts. Installation was very quick & easy, but for those in doubt, you can find a video on Youtube that walks you through the process before ordering (gave us confidence). My husband was initially stumped as to how to adjust the front Right Stay out (diagram points to part, but doesn't mention that you need to unscrew the cover underneath, adjust, fit to roof rail, remove again & screw cover back on before attaching to rail). Once he got that figured out, it was smooth sailing. Back crossbar needed no adjustment. Tools required are a T-30 Torx bit & Torque wrench.
