08-13 YAMAHA WR250R: Moose Pro Skid Plate Review

Installed one of these on my WR250R.

Installation was a bit of a challenge since some of the hardware needed some trimming to work with the bike. There is a clip that is suppose to slid between the rear shock linkage and the frame. The lip on the clip was too long to do this and I needed to trim about a 1.5 mm to make it fit and even then it was a tight squeeze.

The countersunk hole on the bottom means there are no bolt head to break off but they also mean a tough install since there is no place to take up an build variation so in the end the best way is to loose install all the bolts and then begin tightening them up a little at a time to bend the part to the bike frame.

After installation the bike sounds much quieter versus the Aluminum plate that I had on it before. This product also has better side protection that my old skid plate which is one of the reasons why I purchased it.
