Atwood 91641 Inner Tank Service Kit Review

It was the exact same model of tank I was replacing. It comes with instructions and new seals. It is something I did myself. Follow the instructions in the box. Missing from the instructions is a line between Step 14 and Step 15. So BEFORE you "Insert tank into combustion pan", install metal retainer rings over tubes. There were 4 in the box. You will use 2 between the tank and the combustion pan and per the instructions install 2 with the large gaskets after you insert the tank into combustion pan. Don't push the first 2 rings all the way on. Look at the old tank to see how the rings are placed. The first 2 rings are used to square the combustion pan to the tank. Ensure you install the combustion pan so the top of the hot water tank is square with the flanges of the combustion pan. You want the tank to sit square inside your coach so the flanges of the combustion pan are flush against the outside wall of your coach when installing the screws. Once you put the rings on and they FIT very tight, you can't undo it. Speaking of the combustion pan flanges and screws, Step 18 reads, "Put caulking around the flanges and push against the coach skin." You need to have caulk and I would recommend getting a caulk strip from a RV dealership. You will also need a silcone caulk to put around the propane line.
