This is an excellent starter radio for anyone wanting to get in to HAM. The display is somewhat small and glasses are needed if your in your 40's like me. If purchased I recommend the programming software and cable. Type in a spreadsheet and upload to unit in a snap. Yaesu has a good reputation and really nice high end stuff.
